One of Chicago’s biggest problems are the anonymous vultures that exploit crime and violence to push political agendas and or make a buck.
The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) is certainly an expert at these practices but today we are going to discuss an up and comer in the field. This is the northside anonymous blog CWB Chicago. Now when I say anonymous I mean we have no idea who owns them, who edits their content, nor the names of any authors.
This is what CWB’s about section says:
The question you have to ask is why in the hell do they need to be anonymous If they are being the ethical ones? If they are merely reporting on crime then why can’t they identify themselves and allow their audiences to take their identities and backgrounds in to consideration when trying to evaluate their credibility?
Hmmm……
The answers that come to mind are not good.
- They are embarrassed because the content on the site is as racist as some critics believe it is and they don’t want to have their names associated with the content. This is the Ku Klux Klan defense.
- The next possible answer is that they are related to or are themselves current or retired police officers and they are worried the association would taint the independence of their reporting. This is the Second City Cop defense.
- The third possible answer is that they are just out to exploit crime and violence to make themselves a few bucks. This is the So Chicago defense.
- The fourth possible answer is that they secretly desire to be journalists but couldn’t get a legit job as a journalist so here they are. This is the wannabe defense.
Since they refuse to tell us who they are I guess we are left with coming up with answers on our own. Among the four detailed here there is not a good option among them. Oh well at least it matches the quality of their reporting.
