In order to hold justice systems accountable and make Chicago communities safer, people need to be informed about what is going on in their justice system. Here is the information that CJP has obtained from local agencies such as the Office of Emergency Management & Communications and the Chicago Police Department that you can use to help your community or community organization make a positive difference.

CJP believes that the Freedom of Information Act is a vital tool for communities to learn about the actions of the criminal justice agencies working on their behalf. We ardently support a robust Freedom of Information Act and are a frequent user of the rights afforded to Illinois residents under this legislation.
