CPD FOIA for emails regarding hiring of 1000 more officers

Here is the content of our most recent FOIA submitted to the Chicago Police Department. This one is going after emails to and from Superintendent Johnson regarding his announcement in September 2016 to hire 1,000 additional officers for the Chicago Police Department. We will post updates as we get them.

Please provide in unlocked digital format copies of the following records in accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act:

A. Index of all email received by or authored by any of the positions / individuals named in part C of this request that in any way address the subject of Wednesday September 21, 2016 announcement’s by Superintendent Eddie Johnson to hire 1,000 additional officers to the Chicago Police Department.

B. Index of all email received by or authored by any of the positions / individuals named in part C of this request that in any way address any analyses in whatever format that serve as a basis for or support for the September 21, 2016 decision by Superintendent Johnson to hire a 1,000 more officers to the Chicago Police Department

C. Positions / Individuals we are seeking emails from:

  • Superintendent’s Chief of Staff
  • Superintendent’s Special Advisor
  • First Deputy Superintendent
  • Chief Communications Officer
  • Commanding Officer of News Affairs
  • Director of Research & Development Division
