Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office FOIA – FOIAs

The following FOIA was submitted to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office via email on May 2. 2015. Please provide the following records under Illinois Freedom of Information Act:

1.  All requests for records or data received by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office (SAO) in accordance with Illinois’ Freedom of Information Act for the years 2010-2014.

2. Any correspondence, letters, or emails authored by or received by the SAO regarding the requests that are responsive to part 1 of this request.

The original response from the SAO came in an email saying generally the request is overly burdensome because of the volume of requests they receive every year and because we were asking for five years. I

We then reduced our request to a single year but that was also denied.

We then asked for aggregate totals for a single year of the number of requests received, denied, and fulfilled. We never received a response to that request.

We are proceeding that their silence is a denial of that request also.

When Tracy began pursuing a career dedicate to system reform, he found that no single organization existed to promote evidence-based discussions among law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve. Recognizing that citizens in Chicago deserved the right to demand transparency in their criminal justice system, Siska established the Chicago Justice Project. He received his Master of Arts degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
